Channel Letter Structure
Building the sign starts with an Aluminum Return or “Can” up to 5 inches thick painted with your choice of color. Our production team then inserts and attaches LED Lights within the Return. Adding an Aluminum Back or “Backer” holds the Return in place. Our next step has the Acrylic (Plastic) Face attached with a strip of Trim Cap to the Return. These structural pieces make up the sign’s main components. Customer Project: Ridley Orchard School
Our task on the Ridley Orchard School project was to add-on additional Channel Letters to their existing sign. The challenge in bringing together newly built signs with existing ones is color matching. Sun exposure fades acrylic sign faces over time. As a result, we chose to replace all the old letters with new ones. We attached a black-colored Trim Cap around each purple sign face staying true to the school’s logo color. In conclusion, the fresh new letters gave the store’s white wall a stand-out pop of color.
Sign Installation using a Raceway
Our Installation Team used a Raceway to attach the letters to the store’s front wall. In doing so, the Raceway acted as both a container to house the electrical components and an installation structure. Painting the structure the same color as the store’s wall allowed it to blend in rather than stand out. The Raceway method of channel letter sign installation is quick and economical. It allowed our team to install the letters as one whole piece using less hardware versus having to screw each individual letter into the wall.
